I’m a Polish-French documentary photographer, author and researcher combining visual and written storytelling to expose human rights violations and the lasting consequences of major global events. My work focuses on gender-based violence, women’s reproductive health, civilians in conflict, and environmental challenges.
I’m trained in trauma-informed reporting and work either independently or with multidisciplinary, multicultural teams, including in hostile environments like Ukraine, El Salvador, Egypt, Nigeria or the Phlippines. For the past five years, I have worked regularly in Eastern Europe, focusing on the ongoing full-scale war in Ukraine.
I am a grantee of Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting, and along the way i’ve been honored with awards such as Sony World Photography Awards, Pulitzer Grant for Crisis Reporting, Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation Grant, Visa Pour l’Image Camille Lepage «On Est Ensemble» prize, National Geographic Society’s Emergency Fund for Journalists. As part of multidisciplinary teams covering the war in Ukraine, I received IWMF Courage in Journalism Award and my work won the NPPA Best of Photojournalism Award, and was the Webby Awards Laureate in the Politics & News category.
Beyond documentary work I lead workshops and lectures on ethical visual storytelling and long-term documentation and have taught at educational institutions and professional settings in Poland, France, the United States, and Mexico.
